II - Abstract of Function:
This program solves the nagging problem of getting Tabby to dial long-distance phone numbers that are within the same area code, such as 1-747-1234. At present, I am (and, I’m sure, others are) forced to manually add a one before selected phone numbers. It’s a particular pain if the majority of boards you call fall into this category.
III - Operation/SetUp:
1) AutoUserStats 3.1 must reside in the same folder as the host application and Tabby.
2) A textfile, “Local Exchanges” must be created and placed in the Tabby folder. You should enter the 3-digit exchanges, one to a line, that you do NOT have to dial a one for within your area code. See the sample Local Exchanges file supplied with this program. Note that the only lines which aren’t ignored are those which contain a 3-digit integer in the range 200 thru 999 and NOTHING else.
3) Change all of your events, placing LDFix immediately (note: no space) after TabbyNet SendMail wherever it occurs (including your Robot Events). This is because program works on the Tabby Calls file located in the Tabby folder, creating a new file with the “1” added, where appropriate.
IV - Remarks…
After AutoUserStats, this program was pretty easy to write. It has already saved me a lot of pain, and I’m sure some of you will appreciate it. You’re welcome.
I also hope that Mike Connick eventually updates the NodeCompiler, which is where such things as this *should* be fixed.
Incidentally, one person has already offered to pay me for this, since it saves him 15 minutes a week. While this program is free, and no one should feel obliged in any way to pay, if that’s how you wish to thank me, I won’t refuse! Of course, a netmail message is just as good!
